Jurjen Pronk is a dealer in Asian art with a particular passion for Chinese porcelain from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Together with his wife, Inge Pronk, he has been active in the field for over 25 years, working closely with collectors, auction houses, and fellow dealers from around the world.
Jurjen’s interest in Asian art began in his early twenties during a brief period working at an auction house. It was there that he developed a lasting fascination for Chinese porcelain and works of art, laying the foundation for his future career.
Shortly afterwards, he began dealing independently through online platforms at a time when internet sales of Asian art were still relatively new. Collectors worldwide suddenly gained direct access to the rich supply of Asian art available in Europe. Not long after, Inge joined the business, and together they successfully continued this international approach for many years.
Although the Netherlands has a long and important history in Chinese porcelain — largely due to centuries of trade through the Dutch East India Company — Jurjen continues to travel extensively throughout Europe in search of exceptional objects. He regularly visits fairs, auctions, antique shops, museums, and private collections in pursuit of rare and high-quality works of art.
In 2025, a new chapter began as Jurjen and Inge decided to place a stronger focus on exhibiting at art and antique fairs. An important milestone in this development was their participation in the Antica Namur Fine Art Fair. This year, they are delighted to announce their first participation in PAN Amsterdam, a step they greatly look forward to.
