A Celadon glazed Cong Vase


The rectangular body moulded in relief with stylised trigrams, rising from a short circular foot to a cylindrical neck, covered overall in a pale celadon glaze. The crisp geometric decoration is repeated on all sides, inspired by archaic jade cong forms of the Liangzhu culture. The base bears a six-character underglaze-blue mark of Guangxu.
