An émail sur biscuit famille verte teapot

A hexagonal porcelain teapot standing on three short feet, with a curved spout and an upright overhead handle. Decorated in the émail sur biscuit technique and painted in green, yellow, aubergine, and black. The body is divided into six panels, each containing a circular roundel depicting a dragon among clouds. The handle imitates woven bamboo. A very rare and fine example. A comparable, though incorrectly dated, teapot is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (AK-RBK-15893). Link.
