A Kangxi teapot with boys
Decorated with two boys holding a long scrolling peony. This teapot's design likely originates from a Yixing ceramicist. Comparable teapots with a similar decoration in relief were crafted from Yixing stoneware. Notably, the handle's shape is highly uncharacteristic of Jingdezhen teapots. As such, we believe this model most likely originated in Yixing. A similar blue and white teapot is held in The Met, object number: 1975.1.1701 Link.
